  • Citrus EOs have broad-spectrum antibacterial properties [22]. They can be used as natural substitutes for chemical fungicides and antibacterial drugs. They are also used in food preservation, and the prevention and treatment of animal and plant diseases caused by microbial pathogens [16].
  • The antioxidants of natural EOs can extend the shelf lives of foods [23]. Citrus EOs can be used as natural antioxidants in the food and pharmaceutical industries with broad application prospects [27,28].
