An aqueous-methanolic extract of A. absinthium was tested on mice against Acetaminophen (paracetamol) and CCl4-induced hepatic damage. The extract showed hepatoprotective effects. Pretreatment of animals with plant extract (500mg/kg) reduced the death rate of acetaminophen liver damage from 100% to 20%.
